Dawn and Tim are seasoned leaders, pastors, and coaches who have spent decades walking with people through both growth and hardship.

With over 38 years of marriage and more than three decades in ministry, they bring a rare combination of spiritual depth, real-life experience, and practical wisdom.

Dawn has been the Equip & Care Pastor at UPPERROOM Dallas since 2022 and has served in the local church since 1991, working across multiple ministry contexts and developing leaders, teams, and individuals. Tim’s background as a naval officer and pilot, and now as an pilot instructor and check airman, brings strength, clarity, and a high standard of leadership development.

Together, they carry a steady, grounded approach—helping people grow in healing, hear God clearly, and walk in the authority and purpose they were created for.

Their work is not built on theory, but on a life that has been tested, refined, and rooted in Christ.

Road to Real was born in a season I never would have chosen.

During cancer and chemotherapy, much of what I once relied on was stripped away. In that place, I was reminded of the truth reflected in The Velveteen Rabbit—that becoming real doesn’t happen all at once, but over time, through love, wear, and surrender.

But that season wasn’t the beginning of the story.

For decades in ministry, I walked through both life-giving and challenging leadership environments. In seasons that were often stretching and, at times, painful, God was doing a deeper work—forming character, refining motives, and teaching me to trust Him above every human leader.

Much like king David's journey reflected in The Tale of Three Kings, I learned that even in difficult places, God is at work—shaping us, preparing us, and anchoring us in Him.

These experiences didn’t harden me—they rooted me. They deepened my dependence on God, clarified what truly matters, and shaped the way I now walk with others as they find what is real. Our real can be found in our legacy.
